End Of Term Letter
15th December 2015
Dear Parents and Carers,
As we approach the end of a successful term at Walworth Academy, I would like to thank you all for your continued support. Over the course of the term, there have been a number of successful meetings and events for parents to attend, such as Praise Evening, Parent Council meetings and parent evenings. It is by communicating and working closely with our parents and carers that together we can ensure the best outcomes for our students.
The attendance at the year 11 parents evening was 93%, which is very pleasing indeed. In January, we will be holding the year 10 parents’ evening on Wednesday 13th January 2016 and the 6th Form parents’ evening on Wednesday 6th January 2016. We look forward to seeing even more parents and carers this time, to review your child’s attainment and progress.
I am pleased to say that our year 7 students have settled in very well, are displaying excellent attitudes to learning and are embracing our Walworth Academy core values:
- Commitment to learning
Our year 11 and year 13 have been showing exceptional commitment to learning and have been working hard to ensure that they achieve the best results possible when they start their exams in
May 2016. This is the time of year where we like to spend quality time with family and friends, but I also hope that year 11, 12 and 13 students spend as much time as possible revising for their exams and mock examinations. If your child is in any of these year groups, please help them to organise their time so that they do as much revision as possible.
In the build up to the Christmas holidays, we are aware that some students may become very excitable, but also that some students remember what and who they may not have during the Christmas period. If your child should need any support over the holidays, please show them the school Website, where we have the phone numbers for a number of support groups. We will also ensure that your child has a contact card for them to use.
On the reverse of this letter you will find important dates for the next term at the academy, so please ensure that you have these in your diary. I have also enclosed information about lost property.
I wish you and your family a wonderful and happy Christmas holiday and I look forward to welcoming back our students on the Wednesday 6th January 2016 at 8:20am.
Have a wonderful and restful break.
Ms Y Powell OBE
