Random Acts of Kindness Week & Christmas Jumper Day

Thursday 01 December 2016

Dear Parents/carers,

We will once again be celebrating “Random Acts of kindness week” (RAK week) at Walworth Academy week beginning 5th December 2016.

We will be marking this important week by encouraging students to bring in at least one (01) tin of non-perishable food on Monday 12th and Tuesday 13th December 2016.

Students should take their donation to the dining hall where there will be a designated area for each year group. The academy will donate all the food received to a local food bank before Christmas.

Please take some time this week to talk to your child about kindness. Celebrate and focus on their acts of kindness, share your stories of kindness you have given and received.

We certainly welcome this week as an opportunity to emphasize the importance of kindness and hope that this awareness will spill over into the 52 weeks of year 2017.

On Friday 16 December we’re inviting all pupils to take part in Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day. The whole school will be taking part, with everyone getting the chance to show the world their silly side by wearing their favourite Christmas jumper for the day.

Please note that students are expected to wear their uniform to school except their school jumper. Students are only allowed to replace their school jumper with their Christmas jumper.

We’re asking pupils to make a £1 donation, to help save children’s lives around the world.

The money they raise will help Save the Children give the world’s forgotten children a brighter future. It could help bring essentials like healthcare, education, protection and food to the millions of children around the world who are missing out on the most basic support.

We’d really appreciate your help to make Christmas Jumper Day a huge success. With your support we’re looking forward to a woolly great day!

Children believe they can change the world. Let's help to show them that they are absolutely right!

Yours sincerely,

Mr D. Agui
