Design Technology has specialist rooms to implement the subject area, a food technology room, a textile room, an electronics room and a workshop with a CAD/CAM area. A computer suite is also available for use within Design Technology. The Design Technology staff has a wide range of experience with which to deliver the curriculum at all.

 

Key Stage 3

Within KS3 the pupils have 2 lessons a week within the carousel system. The pupils get to experience and gain skills and understanding of the three subject areas, Food, Textiles, Graphics/RM. The carousel operates on a termly cycle throughout the whole of KS3.

  • Healthy Foods.
  • Pastry and Cake methods.
  • Food Hygiene.
  • Soft Toy Manufacture.
  • Wall Hangings and Decorative processes.
  • Recycled Clothing.
  • Key Ring Manufacture.
  • Box Construction.
  • Mechanisms & Levers.

 

Key Stage 4

At KS4 pupils can choose from the following options:-

  • Textile Technology GCSE
  • Hospitality & Catering BTEC (See separate entry)
