Core Purpose 

Ever wanted to work in fashion, a gallery, a museum, web design, advertising, architecture, graphic design, game design, jewellery design, marketing, interior design, film, photography, publishing, set-design, tattoo artist, animation, book illustration, costume design, or to be a make-up artist, window dresser, painter, print maker or ceramist…….?

Over 28 billion pounds was made in the creative industries last year.  Our creative industries are the envy of the rest of the world.

To progress within a creative career, students need to obtain a GCSE in an Art and Design subject. We offer three pathways to set our students on course to pursue their desired career.

Graphics

Advertising, Illustration, Collage, Packaging, Typography, Printmaking

Photography

Critical and theoretical studies - Digital photography, Lighting, Composition, Digital image editing, Photomontage, Stop Frame Animation

Critical and contextual studies - relating to the work of artists, designers and craft people from a range of times and cultures

Students study both Graphics and Photography-based projects in year 8 and choose ONE option to continue with in year 9.

Fine Art

2D Visual arts - drawing, painting, collage, printmaking, textiles, photography

3D Visual language - constructing, modelling using mixed media and or clay

Critical and contextual studies - relating to the work of artists, designers and craft people from a range of times and cultures
